in Warwick Productions,
under the direction of Adam A. Sullivan, self-styled capocomico*,
represents the interests of a group of actors, clowns, comics, musicians
and writers who have strong backgrounds in improvisation, and who
love performing in front of live audiences.
BiWP
serves as a production house for comedy of various styles. Primarily,
the group is focused on the creation of one-act plays which are
written by the ensemble, through improvisation in rehearsal, in
a style which can best be described as either "non-traditional"
commedia dell'arte, or even more accurately, a live human cartoon:
fast, dense, all-laughs and all nonsense. (Many of us consider Wile
E. Coyote to be a role model.) The characters are drawn from stock
commedia archetypes, but the scenarios are completely original.
The group is called Lick
the Spoon. Frankly, we rule.
BiWP
has also recorded 4 original radio plays before live audiences under
the moniker
"The
Sterling Radio Showcase". These original works were
written to parody the style of radio broadcasts of the 1950's. The
group uses sales of these recordings to continue funding future
projects.
